About me
I am a developer from Bavaria. It started roughly around 2007 with websites: HTML, CSS, PHP. From there via VB.NET and Java to C# in 2010. That one became my constant companion and is, rightly, my field today. Between Visual Source Safe and today’s Azure DevOps I have seen and used all of it.
Embedded came along in 2012. Plenty of Arduinos first, until the ESP32 turned up. Etching boards had to happen too. A breadboard is no good permanently and stripboard is too boring. I never quite got away from the embedded side of things. The longest and most ambitious project is the Dartomat.
When 3D printing got boring during the covid lockdown I quickly built myself a CO2 laser. Design, parts list, ordering, assembly and calibration. A three month project that taught me a great deal. It still runs, and so does the 3D printer.
DevOps was a constant companion as well, in use everywhere all the time. In 2022 infrastructure as code came along and got me hooked. At home there is Proxmox, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible and Terraform. My home network is likewise completely over the top and set up more cleanly than that of most companies I have worked for.
If it can be automated, I automate it. In real life, and in games even more so.
